JUST DAYS AWAY…#SOTM

Who’s excited for this week’s State of the Map US? We are! Hosted in our home city of Seattle, we’ll be there to welcome our neighbors as well as those who have traveled from afar to get down with maps.

Friday:
You’ll find us at the GeoLadies social. We’re a pretty diverse team of programmers and geo-enthusiasts, and we’re looking forward to meeting other women in the OSM community.

Saturday:
A team from The American Red Cross, SpatialDev, and Stamen will be presenting “Field mapping with Portable OpenStreetMap and OpenMapKit”. See how we all partnered to build a tool that enables OSM data collection in offline environments, such as those encountered by Red Cross field teams. The session will include a demo of the portable OSM tool.

Sunday:
Be sure to catch “Spatial Analysis in the Developing World: Measuring Access with OpenStreetMap & OpenTripPlanner”, presented by SpatialDev’s Phoebe Merritt. Her cutting edge work on walksheds uses OpenStreetMap data and OpenTripPlanner’s routing engine and Isochrone API to create travel time isochrones. Learn how to implement smarter buffers in your work.

Those are just a few highlights. We look forward to seeing you there!
